2018 Challenge Format

Saloon Shootout     eight  x  2-car  2-lap  Races

Heats     four  x  12-car  12-lap  Races

Features     two  x  16-car  15-lap  Race

Saloon Shootout  

The Shootout is for Team and Individual points only and doesn't determine grid positions for either Heat or Feature races

Shootout matchups are decided at the Driver Briefing

For Race 1 North's captain nominates his driver and South's captain nominates the challenging SI driver

For Race 2 South's captain nominates his driver and North's captain nominates the challenging NI driver

The alternating selection pattern is repeated to find the remaining six matchups

For the Shootout the North are on pole for Race 1 with the South setting pace, and roles are reversed for Race 2 with North on pole and South setting pace, and this alternating pattern repeats for remaining races as set out below

Groups contest four x 12-car 12-lap Heats for Team and Individual Finishing and Passing points

Three of the four 4-car groups contest each of the 12-car Heats

Each group races three of the four Heats, racing twice against each of the other three groups

Drivers that DNF earn Finishing Points based on the order they drop out of a race

In the event of an incident resulting in multiple cars dropping out, Finishing points are awarded based on race order at the end of the last completed lap unless a driver is deemed prime cause of the incident, when they'll be classified as first to drop out and earn the lowest points

Drivers earn 2 Passing points for every car they've passed by race completion including drivers that DNF if their DNF position is higher than their starting position

There are two 16-car 15-lap Feature races for Team and Individual Finishing and Passing points

Starting grids for the Feature are determined by overall Heat Points

For Feature One the highest on Heat points from each team start off the front down to the lowest on Heat points from each team starting off the rear as set out below

Drivers contest the Feature race for Finishing and Passing points that contribute to Team and Individual accumulated points
